the dance devotee (devoted to bushnell mullen)
received a magical and beautiful comment this morning (well, it was sent 13 hours ago, but you know) that was so kind and inspiring i started to cry. i didn’t think i had any longtime readers of this blog, so thank you, bushnell (and this is a good twin peaks reference, by the way). if you are just an ai bot i will probably kill myself, so please be a real person <3 in fact, please be the person i hope you are… anyways! here are some compilations of dance for you: some of it is my choreography, some of it is me improving/working things out in the classroom, and some of it are things that have heavily inspired me over the years.
and for those of you who don’t know anything about me, i am terrified of dance. i always feel inadequate (hence the title of my last choreographic piece, “always inadequate owing apologies”, lol) and like the worst dancer in the room. but over the past few months, i’ve been able to let that go and just get into my body again, leaning into music and movement. it’s been wonderful. i’m glad other people appreciate the art of dance, too. without further ado!
